The egg that she hatched from said "blue" on it, so I'm assuming that this lil chick is just plain blue, or is she lemon or slate blue?

You would have to ask the breeder if his/her birds are lemon blues or plain blues. Slate is a descriptor of the shade of blue, not part of a variety (colour) name. And your chick is black, not blue. That comes from how the blue gene breeds, and is to be expected. If the breeder has lemons rather than regular blues, this would be a brown red rather than a black.
