Molasses flushing?....Sick chicks becoming worse! :( Need help ASAP!

Quote:
OK so basically add 2 tps. of CORID to a gallon of water to treat the whole flock of chickens (all the chicks plus older chickens). And change it everyday? Am I right?

Thanks

Yes, if you have enough chickens that they are going to drink a gallon a day. Otherwise, mix smaller amounts so you don't waste so much medicated water. Go do it now

UPDATE: I ended up mixing 1 tsp of CORID with 2 quarts of water...So basically I cut the original measurements that you gave me in half. (instead of 2 tsp. I used 1 and instead of one gallon I used 2 quarts).

I had to go to my dad's house for the weekend so for now my stepfather is taking care of them for me. Hopefully the chicks are doing better! About how long will it take before they start acting normal and healthy again if they did indeed have cocci?

I've had 3 chicks die & i have another who was doing great this morning, but she's doing so well now. As I was holding her & feeding the other birds I happened to look at my oyster shells which I had fed to all the birds rhis past week, had sunflower seed hulls, thanks to the mice i keep trying to catch (it was kept in a bucket in our coop without a lid) & I had fed them moldy corn the first time not knowing that it was & the second time boyfriend saw it & removed the part that was moldy. What should I try? Should I try a molasses flush, or put some antibiotic I don't have tetracycling I have the other one I, also have been treating for Coccidiosis.

This thread is 13 years old.

It's probably best to start a new thread in the emergency section. It's the same section as this thread but old threads tend not to be viewed much when resurrected.
