Mottled Java or Speckled Sussex?

I just got this pullet yesterday. The woman said she was a Speckled Sussex but she is black not brown. Could she be a Java?

She could be a Java! They are rare, so it would be a lucky find. I agree that she doesn't look like a sussex. She's very pretty!

A closer shot of her head would be helpful. What color are her legs? Javas have yellow skin and dark shanks, Sussex have white legs.

looks like a java but if she gets white earlobes I'd say a anacona

She has dark shanks and the bottom of her feet are yellowish, she has red earlobes. I think she is very pretty too, happy with the mix up! She is very sweet and quiet. She hasn't started laying yet, she hatched in August. Thanks for the help!

she is defanatly motteled and not speckled but because the person that sold her to you did not know what she was she could be anything including a cross of some kind but she is DEFANATLY MOTTELED in color

it is a speckled java it is a rare breed so keep it
