My 36 weeks old chick still not laying

This might be a dumb question but I’m knew to owning chickens. My red sex link is 36 weeks and hasn’t lay an egg yet. Got her in July and was told she was a month. Can a chicken be infertile? I was told to wait for spring, well spring is here and no egg! My white leghorn and americana lay eggs daily. Thank you!

She might be a late bloomer, some hens don't lay until 9-12 months. I don't think its possible a chicken can't lay eggs but it depends on the temperatures where you live.

I live in El Paso and the other two chickens are about same age. Thank you for the reply. This gives me hope .

About 50s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon...

If you want eggs from her maybe encourage her to lay faster, you can get fake eggs and make the nesting boxes more appealing. Chickens tend to pause egg production when it hits Lower than 52-79 degrees F.

They are out of the coop twice a day for about 2 hours so they eat grass. I feed them Layerna, scratch, cantaloupes, bread, worms, eggs shells, leftover white rice.

Stop feeding everything except the layer feed. The poor thing is not getting a complete balanced diet with all those treats.
