My drake duck is mating my chicken hens

He has one female for himself and ten chicken hens who do not like him mating! My one rooster runs him off if he is close enough. What's up with this? They are all free range in the day and secure in separate stalls at night.

Your drake needs more female ducks. Ducks and chickens don't have the same reproductive parts, so he could severely injure them

Thanks for that info, one friend said he needed more females also. I really wasn't planing on more ducks but don't want to re home these unless I find a really great place for them-they are a bonded pair (at least they seem like it) one doesn't move without the other.
