Alice my hen was dropped by a hawk infront of me. My dog wasn't the one chasing the hawk though. I think the raquet I was making by screaming and chasing him was enough to make him drop her.

I'm glad your roo wasn't hurt. Id check under the feathers to be sure. Their talons are very sharp.

What a truly awesome dog !! German shepherds are generally bright, loyal and protective; however, I think JR outshines most of his breed. I agree steak and eggs should be on his menu this week.

I'm sure that eagle is still trying to figure out what went wrong.

and good to see your roo come out in good shape (less a few feathers).

I am waiting here for an attack from a bird of prey. I have eagles (balds and black), hawks (several kinds), and osprey.
Hopefully my dog will do as well as JR.

Thank goodness the roo was okay (he's beautiful BTW). And that dog deserves the BYC Golden Pet of the Year award. What? We don't have one?
