My hen crowed???

My jap. hen crowed. I saw her do it. I even had a local poultry judge check her and she is a girl. Whats up with that?

I can see a japanese hen crowing!

I have had a cochin bantam and an old english game, both females, crow. If you have an all female flock some hens will crow and grow male feathers and then never lay eggs again. Check out feathersite for this info.

yeah a rooster less flock will sometimes get a hen acting and looking like a rooster.but dont worry she cant perform his forbidden duties

My laying RIR and Austrolorp crowed with pride every time they laid an egg.

But now I have an Easter Egger that is almost 8 months and still no eggs. She has started to give that laying crow but when I look - still no egg.

I don't like these Easter Eggers so much. They are such prima donnas, picky eaters.
