My Hen Grew Spurs

Why? She’s had them for a couple of years. She’s a four year old brown leghorn who lays regularly.

I have a hen with spurs too. She is a Super Blue.
Some do, some don't. I think it's just in their genes.

Never had another hen like that. She mail order, so I wouldn’t know about her genes. I’m not concerned about this, just curious.

I've had several hens who grew spurs. I had one hen many years ago, who grew full three inch spurs. She was a hoot to watch strutting around like a rooster

Have had a few females with spurs....no worries, unless they get long enough to impair her activities.

My Ginger doesn’t even seem to notice. The spurs are about an inch long. Thanks for the info!
