Ouch! Sorry I can't tell you if anything is wrong. Is the shell firm or soft? It will be interesting to see what the experts say. Thanks for sharing. I will be following.

Maybe, maybe not -- I'm leaning towards not because plenty of wonky eggs are laid all the time by perfectly healthy hens who go on to lay normal eggs for years to come. I would crack it open and see what's inside. How old is the hen in question and how long has she been laying?

The shell is hard but definitely softer than usual.

Has she laid any other weird ones? If it's just this one egg with no other symptoms or issues, she should be fine. My chickens rarely lay soft eggs, but one once and a while is normal.
