Isn't it the landlords responsibility to replace the fence, and charge the cost to the tenant that burned it down(destroyed the landlords property)?

No, fences are the tenant's responsibility unfortunately. Landlord doesn't care if there is a fence or hedge or wall or nothing at all. But since there was one when I moved in, I have to leave it as I found it if I ever move out. Which will be in a box so I'm not fussed for now.

It is utterly unjust to expect you to replace vandalized property.

The landlord's insurance should cover it.

I agree, but I decided to let this one go. It's not worth the discord. I've got to live next door to these people forever, and I love living here so I'm not moving!
