my new rooster has FINALLY gone in the coop!!!!

First he went under the tarp we gave him, then onto the hay outside the coop but under the tarp and FINALLY he has slipped inside the coop!
He is out of the rain! Not on a perch, squatting in the hay on the ground! But at least he has finally found his way in!

Well that's good. Took him long enough.

My rooster doesn't roost either, but sleeps in one of the nesting boxes. What a weirdo. He knows I'm going to chase him out when I come to collect in the evening. You'd think he'd learn.

Be sure to check on him in the morning and make sure he comes out for the day. Then check on him every night until you are sure he is going in there.
BTW, they never learn!

peacebird- i'm so glad the roo finally figured it out. i was feeling sorry for the poor guy.

Yay!!!!! He must've been nice and warm in there as he slept til 6:15 this morning! LOL!
Then he was up and crowing to beat the band! You should've seen him STRUT -
he's a very perky rooster!

Next weekend he will get some company as the ladies finally arrive!

K eep us updated on how that goes ok? Poor guy has gone through alot of changes lately. I hope his new girlfriends are kind to him.

Oh Marianne, I'm SO glad he went back in the coop. I know how worried you were.
I'm glad the tarp thing worked!

It was the only thing I could think of. I have such little chicken experience.

One day I hope to be like some of these pros here.
