I started raising chickens last spring and now would like to try incubating this year. I have been looking at various incubators but not sure if any are more reliable or any are to be avoided. One I am wondering about is the Rite Farm products, Model 2400 in particular. Any one have used these incubators and recommend them? Thanks.

the GQF Hova-bators are tried and true, the 1602n is the best bang for the buck (add a fan and they are as good as any), the 1588 has a few more nicer features at a higher price.

I too would recommend the Hovabator over any other styro. The 1583 and the 1588 have the nice picture window. The 1583 is a bit cheaper and doesn't have the digital set up that the 1588 does.

Thanks for your replies, I ordered a bator from Peavey Mart that was on sale but it didn't come in for a few months so I ended up boring one from a friend and it worked well. I will search again for a bator next year.
