Need help fast - duck attacked

My husband went out and walked the property with the rifle but of course that didn't result in anything. We can't put traps under the coop because a family of groundhogs lives under it and they're harmless. Minks/fishers/etc. are so disgusting, they just killed them all for sport. 2 Crevecoeurs, 2 Favorelles, my second Cayuga. Only took one head. :(
I read something recently that disputes that assumption what they said happens is the mink kills one chicken and then tries to drag it out of the coop through the small hole that it entered through, and it can’t get it through,, so then it goes back to look for another chicken to kill and try to drag that one out, which she also can’t get through the little hole and so on and so forth until I guess he’s finally able to get just a head through the little hole. So it’s not really for sport. but they are trying to get food and bring it home to their family maybe?

If you can get the pain under better control that might help him want to eat. I imagine his neck is very sore.
miss lydia that reminds me of the video of the girl who makes a laundry basket sling for her rooster and the rooster has a hurt neck and needs to rest his neck and head. Do you have that video still maybe that would help this duck???

I did 1/4 of a 200mg Ibuprofen pill ground up with electrolytes and some homeopathic arnica and that did the trick. She (now I know it's the hen because she finally quacked and that's the only way I can tell them apart) had a warm bath and loved that. She drank a lot and walked around the bath tub and tried to clean herself a bit- her neck control seems to be improving so I'm hopeful she can survive this.

That is a good sign. Improvement is always a good sign.
I cannot remember if you put her on antibiotics, but if you did not, I would be keeping a very close eye on her for signs of an infection.
If you see it, get her on antibiotics.
Otherwise, it seems like she is healing..
Fingers crossed.

Thank you. Yes I'm doing human clindamycin orally with electrolytes and erythromycin topical on wounds that I can see. The eye and head punctures are weeping clear/look appropriate. The neck feathers are still caked with dried blood even after the bath. I don't want to mess with her neck too much given the state of it.

if there are any small wounds on the body u can use super glue my redneck brother did this when my dog attacked it AND IT LIVED AND THE SUPER GLUE FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!
Medics use superglue on humans too, but I think for small wounds it is not necessary. Those should heal fine themselves.
Also, if you do use it, it is to glue not as a filler.

I'll pass on the super glue. The wounds are weeping and I believe they need to.
