We got our first batch of chickens from a hatchery about a week ago. Tuesday I found a chick (easter egger) trying to peep without making a sound. She looked fine otherwise, but my sister found her the next day... she was dead and underneath all the other chicks.
She found this little chick (buff orpington) with legs splayed out, I used the bandaid method to correct them. Her color is lighter and duller than the other buffs, and she sleeps a lot. She can get around ok, but we only have our bantam chicks and the smaller buffs in with her, to keep her from being trampled. She has held up... but what can I do to improve her status? We are trying scrambled eggs ... If I put sugar in the water, should I give it to her separate from the other chicks in with her?
