Need help with homemade incubators

I want to make my own incubators, and I was thinking about making one out of plywood. The plan is to make a plywood box that has a door in the front so I can put the eggs in and a hole on the side of the top for the heat lamp. Has anyone ever made an incubator out of a wooden box, and does it work well? Does anyone have any suggestions on what works best for incubation? I've never hatched my own eggs so any advice would be great!
