In the Brooder
I have a broody hen, she has already hatched 4 chicks and the fifth one was pipped this morning. I have her separated, went out and checked on her this evening and she had pushed the egg out of the nest. I thought maybe it was an accident so I put it back under her. Well she did it again, I left it alone thinking she knows what she's doing. I came back and there was a huge chunk of egg gone and blood from the vessels of the shell. The chick was chirping and somewhat moving so I picked it up and put it back under mama, but the shell was no longer attached. All the yolk was absorbed, the membrane seemed really dry but still bloody. The chick was still wet so I put it under mama hen and left it, haven't looked under her since I put it under there (kinda scared.. 
) someone tell me if I did the right thing?? First time letting my hen hatch her own.
