You can't ship them like chickens. When we've shipped long distances they generally go by plane as cargo. The way we do it is use two three-compartment carriers strapped together inside of a large airline approved dog kennel. They each have their own space so there's no fighting, hay and water, and must also ship with food and feeding instructions so that in the event of a delay airline staff can be sure they get fed. In a lot of cases they also need a vet certificate to fly, and a certificate of acclimation if their destination is somewhere experiencing very hot or cold weather. Even with that, sometimes the airlines will refuse to fly them in very hot or very cold weather.

No rabbit I've shipped or that's been shipped to me has ever arrived dead. Several years back we had some come back from a national show that was on the other side of the country in very poor shape, one died not long after he returned home. We suspect this was because the person caring for them wasn't doing their job, though, and didn't have much to do with the shipping.
