New chick with Splayed leg?

I've got one of our chicks who had a bum (splayed) leg splinted up with a bandaid. She was doing fine after hatch, but then I noticed her ding jazz splits and not standing, so I thought it might be splayed leg and consulted the archives for cures. Viola, bandaid! Does it look right? Have I put it on correctly? I want to make sure I understand the method!

She's having trouble getting around, but she can stand now, and is doing much better! How long should I leave it on for?
