I'm from Dublin, Ireland but now live in rural Leitrim.
I'm relatively new to keeping chickens. I had 3 RIR a few years ago. I took a break to work in Dublin for 5 years but now I'm back in the countryside.
I have 2 orange/ white hybrids, Lavender and Beatrice. They're about a year old and have layed every day since I got them. I also have a New Jersey Giant Rooster and his 2 sisters. They're about 10 months old. He's called Beetle because of his green sheen and is very placid. He has a few feathers on his feet but I don't know if he'll lose them as he ages. His sisters are about twice the size of the other hens and lay a small to medium egg, also every day. They're called Blackbird and Raven, very original names. They do bully the others but only a bit. They're quite wary of me whereas the other 2 are unafraid.
I live here with my wife and 11 year old daughter. I work as a sys admin with a local food company.
