Hey all, been lurking for a while and found some great ideas here. Just finished our coop yesterday and picked up 6 Rhode island reds and 3 buff orpington chicks!
I wanted to share my design as I found it extremely helpful when designing mine to see pictures of others.
The coop is 4x8 and the run is 8x10. Total cost was ~$2000. Any questions please feel free to ask! I'll certainly be asking plenty of questions about the chickens portion of this whole project lol
Any opinions on things to adjust, I'm all ears!
Things I still need/want to do:
Move water outside
Use 2x10 instead of 2x6 to keep food in place to reduce waste
Add automatic door (waiting on power supplies)
Add oyster shells/small rocks
Add pine shavings in the run to use deep litter method (should I add corn too for them to dig more?)
Anything else?
