Hi to BYC. Been raising quail for a total of 2 months. Everything we have learned has been from right here on BYC. Thank all of you. After looking at cage designs after cage designs we hatched our first 14 quail out of 37 eggs. We didn't wAnt our quail outside, wanted them in our garage and as pets and for the eggs. We wanted easy access to them and most importantly easy cleanup. Hubby built a 2' x 1.5' x 8' long cage that has dividers to make 4 smaller cages of 2' x 1.5' x 2'. There is 4 individual drawers for easy cleaning and 4 lift tops. Just wanted to share. Thanks again for all the information that is available on this site for newbies.

Thanks for all the nice comments. No we do not use litter. I wanted these as pets sorta and keep them in our garage out of the weather conditions. There are 4 cages 2x2 X1.5 and a dog pad fits perfect in the bottom. It takes about 15 min to put new ones down in the morning .
