Yeah, chicks can be mailed, but the shipping is really high. I would suggest getting together and ordering one large order, to reduce shipping.

I want to see what Tractor Supply is offering. If I'm not impressed, I will order from Ideal I think, but would love to split and order with a few folks!

Hi. I live in central AL too and I'm getting 24 hens and one rooster in a few weeks. This is my first time raising chickens. I need to build a suitable coop to. Any advice?

Learned a lot there,

Most go with an open coop in our climate. Heat is worse than cold... and boy do we get heat!






This is my open coop design.. it supports 10 chickens, but I do let them out during the day. They're spoiled like that.

Hello all in Alabama. I am in Elmore county. I would like to raise chickens for eggs. I can have them as long as 8 don't have a rooster that crows.
I would like a portable coop so they can have access to grass all the time. This is my first time to have chickens.
I have three small dogs and two grown children.
