I have had chickens for the past 5 years. I have 15 chooks in many different varieties and just love them. I often talk to them and they are great company. I went down this afternoon to collect the eggs and I found this one (Attached). It is a full egg but the shell is a soft membrane. I give my girls shell grit to help their shells. What else can I do or does anyone know what the problem is.
Thanks

I offer oyster shell as a calcium supplement, but once in a while, one of the girls will still produce an egg like the one you described. As long as it only happens occasionally, I don't freak out.

You have found a community of like-minded folks where you can share concerns and successes. I find talking to my chickens to sometimes be the best conversations of my day. Welcome to BYC!
