Here's another picture of the barred rock
This barred rock is making me nervous. Her comb looks pink to me and the beginnings of waddles at 4 weeks.[/IMG] I know she's young but what do you think?
I think that's very suspicious but it's still a little early. I'd repost in a few weeks..
ISA Browns (aka Red sex-links, Golden Comets, or Red Stars) are a breed you can sex by their color, hens will be red with some white while roosters will be white with some red. Yours is colored like a cockerel and its comb is coming in rather soon so I think you have a cockerel.they told my husband it was a isa brown like the redish ones but it's way different in color
Ok. Thanks. So base led on that a cockerel or hen. Just on thatIts not, also the cockerels won't get the distinct saddle feathers and sickle feathers until around 3-4 months I believe. So at this age you normally base it of comb size, hens don't get red combs until they are about to lay (which is around 5 months, some sooner some later).
Leaning towards pullet but will need a better picture
