Thank you! I'll add more fluff to the nesting box and try and get her and her sister to sleep there tonight.

They'll decide where they want to be.

I don't encourage sleeping in the nests -- since they poop where they sleep -- but I don't worry too much if a badly molting bird wants to sleep there.

My poor speckled sussex looks miserable I moved her in with the younger pullets as I already plasticed them so no cold drafts

This is my poor Kermita, who in the past has always had a soft molt. I feel so bad for her. Pictures are from yesterday and today. Temps are going to drop into the 30's tonight, not sure if I should bring her in. She only has one other flockmate. I thought about wrapping the coop in a blanket or towels so it is not drafty.

Poor Ms Frizzle! She looked like a naked neck for almost the whole summer Last photo was in June…second two were about 3 weeks ago. She couldn’t roost either as she had no wing feathers for three months! She’s finally thru the molt and looks so pretty again.

In all the years I've watched chickens moult, I've never had one that lost leg feathers without also losing back and wing feathers!
