So today i took the next step in my chicken adventure. I have ordered me an incubator!

cant wait for this to get here!

Well, I didn't do a half bad job putting that tarp up in the dark at 3 a.m. with rain falling in sheets and lightening flashing all around me, if I do say so myself! Didn't even have to move any zip ties this morning.

And lookie here! My Dominique hen came through the storm just fine with all her chicks. She didn't lose a one! I'm so proud of her. She just earned her lifetime retirement pass.

Great job on the pen. Love it!

There's 88 linear FEET of this in my coop.



24 feet of which were installed just like this.

Now that I have realized the true wonder of zip ties as extra hands, next time I can reduce it to 52 linear feet of weaving, with only 12 feet in the middle. Can't believe I'm already talking about next time!

I have a Royal Palm that strutts like a tom all the time, but lays eggs and sets.
