One of my silkies died

Today I got home from work and found that one of my silkies, Hennifer, died during the day. I found her on the ground and it looked like she just dropped dead. She had no symptoms of anything and even laid an egg earlier in the day. My guess is that she was about five years old. When I inspected the body she was stiff but still warm and her eyes were closed. The only thing I found was a bit of blood on her bum. All the other chickens appear to be fine. Any ideas on what happened? We have had chickens die from old age but they were always in the nesting boxes. My only thought is that she had a heart attack and dropped. Thank you in advance for any help.

Heart attack is a possibility for sure. But I am puzzled about the blood on her vent area. I am very sorry for loss.

I’m sorry for your loss. I lost a three year old EE in a very similar fashion this winter(without the bloody vent)
