Notice how much darker the first egg was that backed up into the isthmus. There was less pigment available when the next shell was built, plus the available pigment was spread over more surface area.
Was this back to back days? Very surprised you managed to get 2 of these? As the others have mentioned it takes a bit for the hens bodies to figure out the process.
I'm betting it was the same hen; can't imagine there being two doing it.I think they were about a week apart. The first one was last week
i had three different hens lay an egg like this. Took several days for them to rest before laying another egg.
