Welcome to BYC -- so glad you've taken the plunge into posting!!!!
There is a big event coming up in Eugene in two weeks --- the first of three or four that will happen this year for that particular "group", which seems very well organized -- you can find them on FB under "Oregon Poultry Swap Inc" --- there are links on that page for the vendor list for the next event where you can read through and see who is bringing what *or* you can post an "ISO" post and authorized vendors are able to respond if they have what you want.
I was so looking forward to going to today's event! And then ended up not being able to go :-( I live in eastern oregon so it's a bit of a drive. I'm definitely planning to be at the next one! And can hopefully talk a few other crazy chicken ladies into coming with me :-D
I'm sorry to hear that. Thankfully it's not a once a year thing for those of us who had to miss out. I plan to go to the spring and summer event. I'm not sure about fall yet. I've been avidly following the vendor posts on FB about what is being brought to the different events. So many beautiful handmade items! And, of course, the critters are cuteSo sorry you had to miss it, I had the same plans to attend and had to cancel as well. Any chance you might attend the summer swap in Lebanon?
Hi folks, I have a question for those of you near Portland. I came across this person advertising Mille Fleur Leghorn chicks on Craigslist. She appears to have a few other ads too. She seems legit, but the email response I got from her reads suspiciously like a scammer. Is anyone over there familiar with her ads? Is she a real person? I'm far away in Indiana, and not sure if I should send money to this person or not. (For hatching eggs.)
Here are some of her ads:

Hi, Her ads contain her contact number so you could call her and not just use email. She presently has 12 ads on CL ranging from selling Eggs, Chickens, and poultry supplies and feed from her small farm.
If you google her business Sunny Side Up Chicken Emporium you will see that she has been around a long time. Kind Regards

Have you looked on the Bloomington or indy CL for them. .....two years ago, when we were living in Indiana, I found someone that had MF leghorns thete, 99% it was the Bloomington page, but can't find the contact info now. They were listed frequently selling chicks and started birds and had some nice breeding stock.
