***Orphaned chicken - Badly need to know the breed, sex, and age. PLEASE HELP us so we can help her/him***

Hey there!

This gal/guy showed up on our front porch one morning and has been our stray defacto chicken 3+ mos ago. We barely see it, hides in our bushes in the day and flies high up high up in our tree at dusk to sleep.

Any ideas on the breed, age, and sex of this rascal?

These were the closest pics I could snap of her on her way out of the bushes and hurrying the short distance across our driveway to get up the tree branches. I apologize for the quality these may be lacking.

She looks like a game fowl pullet of some variety.

That's a female, for breed she's probably some sort of game fowl or a game fowl mix.
Not sure on age, its hard to know. I'm going to guess she's pretty young though and isn't laying eggs yet.

Aww-- poor little girl! It's good you're helping her.

She does look very 'game fowl'. Very leggy.

Like most pullets, she MAY be bribable.
If you know where she likes to hang out, maybe putting some black sunflower seed out for her- or some corn.

If she were old enough to produce eggs, she probably wouldn't be nearly as skittish.

American Game hen. She's mature, just her comb is shrunken for the season.
