Looking for crushed oyster shells that are finer then the regular stuff for chickens. My quails don't eat the bigger pieces so they just go to waste. Any suggestions? And I don't want to crush it myself anymore.

I don't have quail but have bought the ground limestone (feed grade from the feed store) before...it is calcium carbonate powder. I don't know how well quail eat powder, but there you have it. I mixed it into my feed for awhile but found that I had softer eggshells than with the oyster shell.

You can buy small bags from pet bird supply places. try dr. foster and smith online they have it for about $4. Guess it depends on how much you need. You can get/save egg shells and crush them too, bake for 10-20 minutes first to kill germs. If you need a lot I bet a restaurant would save you some form the breakfast rush! One or two days should hold you for a while. good luck.
