Here are two of our new sweethearts. Phoenix mix with buff Orpington possibly. The phoenix is for sure - the other side, not so sure.
They are all new, the buff Orpington joined them yesterday. They are a 13 weeks old.
I think they are cockerels. I've never seen color like that on a hen. But I don't know phoenix well and what a mix would look like. I adore roosters, so no problem if they are. We have plenty of hens. But this would make 6 roosters. Thank goodness there are 2 coops and 32 acres. The two buff Orpingtons we just acquired a few days apart. (Owners were desperate to have them go to someone that wont kill them.) Anyway, they hit it off right away like they are long lost brothers. Love Orpingtons. I think these little mixes are just lovely.
