I was origanaly going to build our chicken run under a tree to take advantage of the shade. I have changed my mind and am now going to put it in a place that will be easier to keep them safe from snakes and birds of pray. This new spot has no shade plants. I am in west texas are there any plants that I can put in the run for shade and a place to hide that the chickens will not destroy? I was thinking a small ornamental palm tree
