Please Help, My rooster is pulling hen feathers out!!! Why???

I use "pick-no-more by rooster rooster"....it's an all natural cover up lotion that is purple in color and smells like grapes, but the roosters hate the taste of it, I put it on my hens heads and back ends to keep the roosters from being so aggressive during mating...before I started using it I was in your situation.
