This is by far my most loathed part of meat chicken raising. I've been hand plucking my whole life whenever plucking needed done.
This year I'm thinking of building an automatic plucker cause I've had enough of wet feathers stuck between my fingers. The way i have it worked out in my head is similar to a whiz bang. But i kind of wanted to see how everyone here does it to see if better ideas have been had and put into use.
I will describe my plan as it is right now. Black rubber bungee cords cut and pushed through a 5 gal bucket to make the plucking fingers. The same done to the lid of the bucket. Cut the bottom out of the bucket and sit it over the lid with the bungee fingers installed. I would turn the lid by making a bracket i can mount a drill on.
