FIRST EGG!!!! From princess our Isa Brown

Love these tiny pullet first eggs!

Our 17 weeks old Lucy, a Production Red, surprised us with her first egg. She laid it in the nest, good girl! It is a tiny and beautiful egg. But she is a very tiny pullet too. Will snap a pic of it later today.

First egg from one of my 20 week old black australorps! I put it next to a store bought egg for comparison. I thought it would be more brown? Now I hope the other 3 or 4 (not sure if one is a rooster yet) will start laying too.

The top one is from our mature hen, the bottom four were the young ones' first egg. The huge one was a double yolker. For a first egg!! Wow! Congratulations! It's so exciting finding your very first egg!

We got two in one day! I was so excited I made a video!

I was off work and saw two of our birds in the nesting box and making quite a racket. So I got my camera and caught one of my buff orpingtons and our golden comet laying an egg! The buff walked right out and told the whole neighborhood! Here is a link if you want to see it. I know, I know, the song choice is odd...
