prrring sound puts them to sleep

Funniest thing: I can hover above my chicks with my head just into the brooder and make a long prring sound, like an extended Mexican "r," and one by one they all stop making noise, look up and around, squat down in place and put their heads down. This is very repeatable.
 
I love the trill sound they make! In the past few days, my roo Carl has been making that sound, and it's much more ..... robust.... than the pullets' "happy sound" and therefore quite startling.
