Wing sexing does not work for birds older than a day or two old. Wing sexing only works for specific crosses of a fast feathering rooster over a slow feathering hen. Purebreds cannot be feather sexed and nor can crossbreeds that weren't mixed with intention. This cross is also hard to come by for backyard owners. Quote from Cackle Hatchery's website: "You may run across websites where people claim any chick may be feather sexed. But, as you now know, that’s simply not true. A chick can be feather sexed only if its mother is slow feathering and its father is fast feathering. Furthermore, you can’t get feather sex chicks by mating a feather sex rooster to a feather sex hen. It works only for the first generation." Here is the link for more information. For the OP, your bird is a cockerel. :)
