Its ages is an est. of ten weeks. Is it a Plymouth Barred Rock? Is it a cockerel? Do barred rock cockerels grow spurs? If it is a cockerel, should I remove it ASAP? I have a mixed breed flock with one other PBR and about to fully merge this one into my existing flock of 6. The one on the box is in question.

I think it looks like a legbar and a cockerel. I’ve never had any legbars so I’m not positive on the breed but I believe it it legbar or some colored egg laying cross of legbar. It won’t lay any eggs since it’sa cockerel but its offspring might lay colored eggs if you decide to keep it.

I am new to chickens and have not done any research on having a rooster in the mix. If i keep it do I leave it with my hens? Is there a concern about having one rooster with so many breeds? I am trying to intergrate two flocks into one coop. Other than basic knowledge that some (maybe most) roosters can be aggressive, what should I watch out for?
