Our zoo tried to raise these for our Education Department. They were challenging, one of the keepers had to take them home everynight to socialize them with people.

I know this topic is a few months old now, but I came across this and just wanted to say that the large green egg is definitely Emu, I breed Cassowaries, and their eggs are alot lighter, more like a olive or lime.

That big green egg is a cassowarie, I know it looks like a emu, but its not, I have emu, ostrich, rhea and cassowarie eggs. The cassowarie is alot lighter then that of a emu egg, it looks alot darker in this pic then what it really is.

hmm, maybe its just the way the pic looks. Where did you get that cassowary shell from if you dont mind me asking? A breeder? I would love to find more people that have them. Im looking for a extra male.
