When is a good time to move the chicks from the brooder to the coop? Is it a temp. thing? Or an age thing? What should i look for to help me figure out when the time is right?

It's a temperature thing for sure, and also an age thing if there are resident fowl in the coop. It is generally not a good idea to add new birds to a flock before they are as large as the residents.

Chicks are fully feathered by 6 to 7 weeks old and in the summer I will move them out of the brooder by then. But we've been having sub-zero weather the last few days and I still have a heat lamp for my 9 week old chicks. (And for my adults.)
