quail food

Hello,

I need an advice. I am a newbie and I who'd like to raise a quails for eggs what is the best food and how mach food do i need for about 20 quails for a week ,4 males 16 females. Thank you

Protein around 26-30%. I am averaging about 50 pounds per month for 21 quail. I ferment my feed, so that means that you would probably need to feed more than me if you keep the feed dry. It is going to depend on how much they need to eat to keep warm, how much they lay etc...

Also, I'm from the Western PA area and had to go to a local feed store to get that high of a protein content. Tractor Supply Store, Farm and Fleet, and Rural King (Farm Chain Stores in our area) did not carry feed with that high of a protein content. The local feed store mixes its own sacks of feed, so it was easy to get feed with the appropriate protein content from them. Just my 2 cents in case you are having trouble finding 26-30% protein feed.
