Quail wire floor sizing help

I keep my Coturnix inside as pets and am needing to separate. I have a rabbit cage that I wanted to use that is about 1/2 inch wire and I am reading that that seems to be ok, but it is all vertical wire on the bottom.....not a grid. Is that ok too?

You mean it isn't woven? If so it should be fine.

no, just straight vertical wire with the pull out tray underneath. Was going to put a piece of foam shelf liner on part and a sand box inside as well. Hoping it will be ok for their feet. I am such a spaz over these silly birds

Well vertical means straight up & down. I've never heard of vertical cage floors. I still assume you mean it is just two different layers which is fine.

I always gave them a sand box & a piece of something which was usually cardboard to stand on both to rest their feet & block the chill. If they wasn't in the sand or feeder they were somewhere besides the board.
