I built these in an day. There are 7 total but only have images of 4 or 5. Each is 8 x 10, made hoops of 1.5 inch electrical pvc, ends made with cattle panels and wrapped in chicken wire. The 2 that have my hens will have nest boxes added soon made out of cat litter containers.

All but two have roosts as well.

Hoop Houses or Brooder take your pick.

I wish my chickens had such a lush lawn to graze in, everything is dead here from the heat. Your setup is what I have been wanting to do. How tall is the movable fence and where did you get it? I have looked at most of the websites for those, just can't decide on one. Did you get the double spikes on the posts? How much linear feet of fence is that in the picture? Do they try to get out of the fence?

Thanks,
Teri

That fence is from Premier. http://www.premier1supplies.com/detail.php?prod_id=20170&cat_id=53 It is the single spike.
It runs on this: http://www.premier1supplies.com/detail.php?prod_id=28351&cat_id=43 it is nice but it will only run one fence.
Which is what you see in the photo. I will be taking that home and running the one fence I have at home for my 15 hens I keep in my back yard.

I have since started purchasing http://www.kencove.com/fence/Electric+Net+Fencing_detail_NPCG.php they all come double spiked, are green and comes with corner stakes. I have 4 of these. And they are all going to be set up where you see the current white fence.

4 of these fences will basically net off 1 acre of land or just shy.
I use this to power the 4 fences but it will easily power 6: http://www.kencove.com/fence/Battery+Energizers_detail_EKB2P.php and I have 2 batteries that I rotate in and out. I change batteries once a month.

My young birds under 10 weeks can get out through the netting. Once my birds hit 15 weeks a few will fly out but always come home. And if I catch them out I clip a wing and no more fly outs. Out of the 50 birds in the netted area I think 4 come out daily through the netting and 2 flew out. Since I clipped wings it is only the 4 and always the same 4 that squeeze through and they are almost to big to do it anymore.

The netting in the photo basically would create a 40 x 40 square. 1600 sqft.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for all the info. I will look over all the links. I wasn't planning to electrify the fence, just keep the birds in and out of neighbors yards.
