raaising chicks in coop question

i have 17 chicks would they be alright in a 10x12 coop divided in half for say 6 weeks until 18 weeks of age without going outside. the other half of coop will house my existing 10 adult birds. they will be seperated by wire. and the adult birds have access to the outside.

I hope so ! That's my plan for next month too.

my month olds are now in the coop. nightlight, heat lamp, food and water with no access to the run. they're fine but are showing signs of wanting to explore the great outdoors.
