Rainwater collection from coop/shed roof project follow along

Come follow along on our diy water collection for our chickens and gardens. We have a 225 gallon tank that is buried to avoid algae growth from sunlight. We have a 4x8 coop that is along side our 6x10 shed. We plan to have a stand alone and solar powered pressurized system. We learned the importance of this after having no electricity for 12 days after hurricane Ian. I'm sure there will be monkey wrenches along the way and all input is welcome!

Progress! The tank is all plumbed, rain collection and first flush are done and the pad is poured for all the components. Now to build the box to contain the filters, pump, pressure tank, battery and all the solar and electrical components.

More progress! The component frame is finished and painted. I'll start assembling the pump plumbing tonight.

Also, we had a decent rain last night and it filled the tank tithe rest of the way from install!

Waiting on the post filter housing that gets delivered today. As well as the electrical box.

Progress! Still waiting for the electrical box, which should be here any second.

Sides are painted and assembled. Wiring is complete and this puppy is ready to be placed outside and the last connections made! Tomorrow we will be operational!

Up and running! I ended up moving the junction box to the front but everything works as planned and we are making power and water!!!
