Raw Chicken Butt

One of our girls has had an issue with poop collecting on her fluffy butt feathers, getting heavy & ripping out the feathers. It's been a while and I thought her feathers would have grown back by now. I noticed she had a red baboon butt so I took a closer look tonight and she had a huge poop/feather clump hanging below her tail feathers again and it looks like its a vicious cycle of weighing down & ripping out the new feathers. Iwas able to cut away the poop feathers tonight and her skin is red & irritated. I sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide. Is there anything else I should be treating her with. I don't have time to give her an epsom soak until the weekend.

Peroxide can get itchy, so I would spray her with plain water to rinse it off. Some ointment, such as Nustock Cream, Vicks, Bag Balm, or pine tar can act as an anti picking lotion. She may be getting feather picked by others or herself. Does her lower belly seem enlarged or full of fluid, or swollen?
