I think they are standards, what breed?

can you post some closer shots - head/comb, body? I think it's kind of hard to tell from the angle of the pics.

Looks like Black Astrolop to me. I have two of them.

A pure bred Australorp chick should already have black creeping down the upper front of its legs, very soon turning its legs all black. It's a little hard to see the legs from the pic, but I'd also vote that you have little Australorps there. You'll know for sure if they soon get all black feathers that develop a fabulous blue/green/purple irridecense. I've had Australorps for many years now and I love them. They're sweet, and good layers as well.

BTW, they both have a single striaght comb.
