What is the best antibiotic to use for a respiratory infection? My chicken has been coughing and sneezing for about 3-4 weeks now. Not eating and has stopped laying.

Same hen as your other thread? Did you see where you needed to adjust your dose of dewormer?

Do you see any mucous, facial swelling, bubbles in the eyes or other symptoms of respiratory illness? Hard to know if the coughing/sneezing is respiratory or not. Check her crop to make sure it's emptying overnight, feel her abdomen for fluid below the vent between her legs. Do look inside the beak for any canker, sores, lesions or yellow/white pasty material and inside the ears for infection. Check her over for lice/mites.

If you feel it's necessary to treat for respiratory disease, Tylan/Tylosin is the most commonly used medication.

Yes this is the same chicken I have checked her crop at night it’s always empty. I don’t see anything in her mouth. I have checked for mites and lice, I didn’t see any. No mucus or runny nose or bubbly eyes. I have checked for water belly that seems fine. She will eat grass and eggs and stuff here and there but not putting on weight and always has an empty crop at night when she goes to roost. Should I try to deworm again? I can not find Tylan Jedds is sold out. And she is still coughing with a honking sound. And losing weight.

Can you get a video of her? Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

You can try deworming again since it seems like the dosing was off.

See if you can entice her with wet feed, bits of egg, etc. to get her eating.

Medications are getting hard to source, so you'll have to check around to see where they may be available or if you have a vet, ask them if they can prescribe you something.

I have been able to get her to eat eggs and mealworms. But now I have noticed a greenish tint to the bedding when she has pooped. I’m still waiting on her antibiotics to get here.
