Rinsing sardines/tuna?

I've seen many postings about feeding sardines and tuna, especially during molt.
I know both can be very salty, if canned - do you rinse well and repeat? (hair humor)

I do not rinse when giving canned (tinned, for across the pond) fish. It would not diminish the protein tho.

No I don't but when I give something like that it is a small amount. The problems are not what is in one bite, it's a total of how much they eat. All such things in moderation.

I also agree rinsing them won't hurt.

I drain any tinned fish in oil and brine and I squeeze as much oil out as I can with the back of a spoon.
I can get tuna in spring water here and that just needs draining.
I give mackrel when I can in preference to sardines and tuna.
